Can I make changes to the script for my production?

No. When you obtain a performance license for a show, you are agreeing to produce the script (including book, music and lyrics) as it is provided to you. Making changes to the written show compromises its integrity and is unfair to the writers, who are billed on your publicity and programs as authors of the show you present to the public. If you make unauthorized changes, your performance license may be revoked and you won’t be able to produce the show. Licensing a copyrighted show means using your artistic vision to bring the script to life in a way that supports the authors’ original intention.

Do I need to be a theater teacher?

We’ve built The Lion King Experience so that any educator can facilitate each session. Because foundational concepts and learning themes are delivered through the introductory video, and because group work is student-driven and project-based, you can be successful with this material whether you’re a seasoned thespian or new to the stage. We’ve included a theater education glossary with domain-specific language and concepts you might find throughout the lesson plans, or wish to incorporate in your instruction. After concluding the curriculum, students and educators will be well prepared to begin the rehearsal process using the provided comprehensive support materials.
